SINGAPORE: PLEDIS Entertainment has officially announced that SEVENTEEN members DK and VERNON will soon begin their mandatory military service, with both members set to fulfil their national duties later this year.
According to the agency, VERNON will begin his military service on August 20, while DK is scheduled to enlist for active duty in the Republic of Korea Army on September 8.
Before entering military service, both members will complete their remaining official schedules and continue participating in planned activities. Following the start of their service, DK and VERNON will temporarily pause participation in SEVENTEEN’s group activities.
Despite their temporary absence, fans can still look forward to a variety of pre-recorded content that has been prepared in advance, allowing the two members to stay connected with CARAT throughout their enlistment period.
PLEDIS Entertainment also requested that fans refrain from visiting the enlistment sites. For DK, the agency asked fans not to attend the Army enlistment ceremony, as it will be attended by numerous enlistees and their families. Similarly, fans were asked not to visit VERNON’s enlistment ceremony or the location of his alternative service.
The agency encouraged fans to continue sending messages of love and support for both members through Weverse, expressing hope that DK and VERNON will complete their military service safely and return in good health.
PLEDIS Entertainment concluded by thanking fans for their continued support and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting both artists throughout their military service.
