SINGAPORE: IU has released a new series of concept photos for her upcoming digital single, ‘Unknown Planet,’ taking the release into a cinematic space setting.
Released on September 8, IU aboard a spacecraft with Earth appearing prominently throughout the concept. One image captures IU standing in profile as she looks towards a huge view of Earth, while another sees her dressed in a white astronaut suit and helmet, gazing at the planet through the spacecraft window.
The concept then shifts into the spacecraft’s living quarters, where IU is seen sitting on the edge of a bed in her full astronaut suit. Surrounded by cool-toned interiors, the setting carries a quiet and isolated atmosphere far away from Earth.
Another photo takes on a more relaxed direction, with IU lying across the bed in a soft grey knit sweater and dark trousers. The blue-green lighting running throughout the cabin keeps the space setting intact while giving the image a softer and more personal feel.
Across the four photos, IU moves between an astronaut preparing to explore somewhere beyond Earth and quieter moments alone inside the spacecraft, continuing the ‘Unknown Planet’ theme introduced through her earlier teasers.
IU’s new digital single, ‘Unknown Planet,’ is set to be released on September 10 at 6 PM KST.
