SINGAPORE: Red Velvet released new teaser, BIG WAVE for their upcoming mini album, ‘Velvet Summer.’ The teaser images were released across Red Velvet’s official social media platforms.
The five-track album is led by the title song “Surfin’ Boy,” introducing a fresh take on Red Velvet’s signature summer sound while showcasing the group’s distinctive musical style and seasonal charm.
Among the B-sides is “Hula Hoop,” a medium-tempo pop track driven by lively guitar melodies and rhythmic piano arrangements. The song tells the story of two people finding their way back to each other by fate, while looking back on unforgettable memories from a beautiful summer.
Another highlight is “Hawaii,” an acoustic pop track written solely by Joy. Through its heartfelt lyrics, the song reflects on letting go of everyday worries and rediscovering the carefree freedom and dreams of childhood, as though escaping to the islands of Hawaii.
Ahead of the album’s release, Red Velvet unveiled the first set of teaser images through the group’s official social media channels on July 21, featuring all five members enjoying a carefree road trip together. The relaxed atmosphere and the members’ natural chemistry have already sparked excitement among fans worldwide.
‘Velvet Summer’ will be released on August 3 at 6PM KST.
