SEOUL — The 2024 MBC Drama Awards celebrated a year of outstanding achievements in Korean television on January 5 with a pre-recorded broadcast. Originally slated to air live on December 30, the event was postponed as a mark of respect during a national mourning period following the Jeju Air tragedy.
The prestigious Daesang (Grand Prize) was awarded to Han Suk Kyu for his exceptional performance in Doubt. In an emotional acceptance speech, Han Suk Kyu reflected on the theme of family, a cornerstone of his career. He shared, “I wanted to take on Doubt to convey the importance of family. My heart goes out to those who have lost loved ones. I express my deepest condolences and apologies.”
