SINGAPORE: NCT JNJM unveils new teaser photos for their upcoming. first mini album “BOTH SIDES.” Their first mini album shows a strong emphasis on musical genre and lyrical storytelling, showcasing the duo’s identity through contrasting yet complementary sounds.
Featuring a total of six tracks including the title track of the same name, one of the track “What It Is” is a pop R&B song built on an uptempo groove with a smooth, rhythmic progression. The arrangement balances groove-driven beats with melodic layering, allowing Jeno and Jaemin’s contrasting vocal tones to create a controlled sensuality and dreamy mood. The production leans into subtle dynamics rather than overpowering instrumentation, letting the emotional flow of the track take center stage.
Jaemin took part as the sole lyricist for “What It Is,” adding a personal touch to the track’s narrative. The lyrics explore the delicate tension of two people slowly falling for one another.
