Across two nights of their ‘XX : COSMOS’ tour, G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung revisited their biggest hits, entertained VIPs with spontaneous conversations and reflected on the journey that brought them back together.

When G-Dragon jokingly accused Taeyang and Daesung of leaving him out of their conversation about being sexy, the Singapore crowd erupted into laughter. It was one of many moments across BIGBANG’s two-night concert that showed why the group’s chemistry remains as entertaining as its music.

Bringing their ‘XX : COSMOS’ tour to Singapore on October 17 and 18, G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung delivered two nights celebrating nearly two decades of BIGBANG’s music, from the songs that defined their early years to the solo careers that have shaped their individual identities.

For longtime VIPs, the concerts offered an opportunity to revisit familiar songs live. But beyond the performances, it was the members’ spontaneous conversations, playful disagreements and emotional reflections that made each night memorable.

Although the two concerts shared a similar musical foundation, the trio’s unpredictable interactions gave both evenings their own character.

BIGBANG wasted little time bringing the audience to its feet, opening with “Fantastic Baby” before moving into “Hands Up” and “Tonight”.

The setlist travelled through different chapters of the group’s discography, including “Blue”, “Sober”, “If You”, “Haru Haru”, “Bad Boy” and “Bae Bae”. The acoustic arrangements offered a change of pace, allowing the vocals and familiar melodies to carry the performances.

Each member also had an opportunity to take centre stage individually.

Daesung brought his powerful vocals and energetic personality to performances of “Universe”, “Wings”, “HANDO-CHOGUA” and “Look at Me, Gwisun”, shifting between emotional delivery and the playful showmanship that has become part of his solo performances.

Taeyang delivered “BAD”, “Ringa Linga” and “LIVE FAST DIE SLOW”, with the latter seeing him move closer to fans. His solo segment balanced his signature performance style with moments of connection with the audience.

G-Dragon’s solo stage featured “POWER”, “Crayon” and “Crooked”, bringing his distinctive musical identity and stage presence into focus.

Together, the three solo segments demonstrated how differently the members approach their individual music. Yet when they reunited for BIGBANG’s songs, their contrasting personalities became part of the group’s appeal.

Day One: Mr Durian, Chili Crab and G-Dragon’s Playful Jealousy

The first night was filled with conversations that frequently became as entertaining as the performances themselves.

Between songs, the members encouraged the audience, revisited snippets of older tracks and teased one another, often allowing their conversations to continue long after the initial joke.

Singapore’s local culture also found its way into the show.

Daesung enthusiastically spoke about his love for durian, earning himself the nickname “Mr Durian”, while Taeyang challenged fans to make the stadium “hotter than chili crab and funkier than black pepper crab”.

Taeyang also mentioned Singapore’s haze, sharing that he had initially been concerned it might prevent him from seeing the fans’ faces clearly. Looking out into the audience, however, he reassured VIPs that he could see them.

When BIGBANG returned with “BANG BANG BANG”, the stadium erupted into cheers, with fans singing along to one of the group’s most recognisable anthems.

The energy continued into another conversation segment, where G-Dragon pointed out Daesung’s habit of rolling his R sounds whenever he spoke English.

According to G-Dragon, the pronunciation made Daesung sound unexpectedly sexy, a sentiment Taeyang enthusiastically agreed with.

Daesung returned the compliment, telling Taeyang that he found him even sexier because of his name.

Taeyang then joked that while he was constantly trying to be sexy, Daesung appeared to achieve it effortlessly.

As the two continued complimenting each other, G-Dragon, who had been standing beside them, appeared increasingly unimpressed about being excluded.

Pretending to be angry, he complained, “You guys talk between you guys. I know I’m not that type of sexy guy. You guys really don’t care about me. Like, you guys really, really don’t care about me!”

Taeyang immediately responded, “GD, are you jealous?”

The exchange sent the audience into laughter, with G-Dragon’s exaggerated frustration becoming one of the evening’s funniest moments.

The trio’s humour continued when they asked the crowd whether they knew how to sing “BiiiG”.

After hearing fans attempt the song, Daesung admitted that even he found it difficult to remember.

He jokingly demonstrated the only part he knew, “BiiiG, Daesung-ie”, prompting G-Dragon to call him selfish for remembering only his own name.

The members continued their spontaneous conversations throughout the evening, frequently encouraging one another and breaking into snippets of familiar songs.

Amid the laughter, G-Dragon also hinted that the group might have something new planned, although he did not reveal any specific details.

The first night concluded with “We Like 2 Party” and “BiiiG”, bringing an energetic close to a show that had moved effortlessly between nostalgia, humour and live performances.

Day Two: Singlish, Beatboxing and an Impromptu Musical

If the first night was filled with playful exchanges, the second took the trio’s spontaneous conversations even further.

The audience was noticeably louder, and the members appeared increasingly comfortable experimenting with Singlish.

They greeted fans with an exaggerated “Singapore” to the rhythm of “Bae Bae”, while Daesung asked whether it was acceptable to end their sentences with “lah“.

Taeyang repeatedly entertained the audience with his rolling-tongue “LALALA”, incorporating it into their conversations and even a playful reference to “Last Dance”.

The second night also featured “Lies”, alongside familiar favourites including “Haru Haru”. Following their solo performances, BIGBANG reunited for “BANG BANG BANG”, “Stupid Liar” and “Sober”.

But one of the night’s most unexpected moments came when the members began beatboxing during a conversation segment.

Daesung suddenly launched into an impromptu musical performance, explaining that he had watched a musical a few days earlier and was still influenced by the experience.

Taeyang and G-Dragon soon joined him, transforming what had started as an ordinary conversation into a spontaneous musical number.

During his ment, Daesung also shared a humorous theory about G-Dragon’s role in shaping BIGBANG’s journey.

“I think, this is my opinion, GD, he saw everything. Four years and four months, four plus four equals eight. Eight years, eight months. Can you believe it? GD and Taeyang, they were born in ’88. What are the odds? Can you believe that? I think GD paved the way for everything. He planned everything since 2006, and he saw that coming. I’m sure of that!”

His increasingly elaborate explanation suggested that G-Dragon had somehow anticipated the group’s journey from the very beginning.

Taeyang then began singing a line from “A Whole New World”, prompting G-Dragon to respond, “You don’t have to show me the world because we are the world.”

The exchange brought another round of cheers and laughter, with the trio’s improvised musical becoming one of the second night’s most memorable interactions.

At another point, G-Dragon dramatically lay down onstage, turning the moment into another joke as the members interacted with the audience and took a photograph together.

The second night continued with “We Like 2 Party”, “BiiiG” and “Home Sweet Home”, before the members returned for an encore featuring “My Heaven”, “Sunset Glow”, “Last Farewell” and “Feeling”.

The selection brought the audience through some of BIGBANG’s earlier music, with the familiar melodies creating another opportunity for longtime fans to sing along.

As the evening approached its conclusion, the members took turns addressing VIPs.

The final speeches were among the most personal moments of the concerts, offering a glimpse into how each member viewed BIGBANG’s journey towards its 20th anniversary.

Daesung: A Promise to Keep Making VIPs Happy

Daesung began by reflecting on how grateful he felt to have spent nearly 20 years performing.

“These days, I always say thank you because I’m truly grateful that I can do this for 20 years. I don’t take it for granted, and I feel like I’m in the best shape ever,” he shared.

Before he could continue, Taeyang interrupted, joking, “Daesung sounds so sexy to me. Why do you sound so sexy?”

The unexpected comment brought laughter from the audience, continuing the members’ ongoing jokes about Daesung’s naturally attractive way of speaking.

Daesung continued by sharing that he felt he was in the best place he had ever been, and that VIPs were an important part of that happiness.

“I think I’m in the best place I have been, and you are a big part of it. Thank you, Singapore.”

He then shared a quote that held special meaning to him: “The most important thing is the love we shared.”

Daesung explained that he wanted to continue singing and sharing his love with fans onstage, thanking the audience for making the evening special.

He emphasised that whenever he performed, his priority was to make fans happy and create unforgettable memories.

Promising to continue bringing happiness to VIPs until his last day, Daesung concluded his speech by thanking Singapore and expressing his love for the audience, adding a playful “lah” to his farewell.

Taeyang: ‘You Guys Are the Reason We Are Here Right Now’

Taeyang followed with a heartfelt reflection on BIGBANG’s approaching 20th anniversary.

“Thank you, Singapore. Love you so much, lah,” he began.

He admitted that he struggled to describe how he felt about reaching the milestone, describing the anniversary as a miracle.

Throughout the years, Taeyang explained, he had repeatedly reminded himself that he wanted to return as much of the love he had received from fans as possible.

However, he acknowledged that it would take a long time to repay that love because of the enormous support BIGBANG had received.

“Without your love and support, this 20th anniversary would not be possible. So please remember this. You guys are the reason we are here right now.”

Taeyang emphasised that without VIPs, BIGBANG would not have been able to continue its journey for nearly two decades.

He even joked that without the fans, the group might have disappeared somewhere along the way, before asking the audience whether they understood how important their support had been.

He repeatedly thanked Singapore, ending his speech with another affectionate “I love you, lah.”

Taeyang also addressed fans who had travelled from South Korea, speaking in Korean to thank them for their continued love and support.

G-Dragon: Bringing Back BIGBANG’s Golden Days and Sharing Happy Tears With VIPs

G-Dragon’s final ment began with another playful moment when Taeyang noticed the pink and blue confetti beneath his eyes.

After asking whether he was alright, Taeyang joked, “Even your tears are colourful.”

G-Dragon played along, joking, “This is a new trend,” before continuing with a heartfelt message to VIPs.

“During my solo comeback a couple of years ago, I have been waiting for this moment for so long, just like you guys. That’s why I keep trying to figure out a master plan to bring our golden days back, not for myself, but for all of us. And this is what it’s all about. Finally, we are back, and with the biggest world tour we ever had.”

He then spoke about how much it meant to perform alongside Taeyang and Daesung again.

“I always feel it’s different when I’m performing solo compared to when I’m up here with my members. It just makes me feel so much, so much, so much happier. I’m happy, so fine. They’re fine, I’m fine too. They’re sexy, I’m sexy too. Maybe during our golden days, yeah, I’m sexy. Also, bring sexy back. And I think, why not? That’s why I’m kind of emotional.”

Just as G-Dragon was explaining his emotions, Taeyang suddenly interrupted after noticing the colours of the confetti.

“Hold on one second. It’s yellow and red and blue. It’s the master plan!” Taeyang exclaimed.

“Oh, he planned everything!” Daesung added.

“Not just one,” G-Dragon replied.

“That’s why they call you GD,” Daesung joked.

G-Dragon then clarified that his emotions came from happiness rather than sadness.

“That’s why I’m not sad. It’s happy tears.”

Taeyang playfully broke into a snippet of “Happy”, drawing laughter from the audience.

G-Dragon continued, reminding VIPs that some things had remained unchanged throughout the years.

“Something never changed, like us. You guys.”

Daesung then commented, “I think a lot of VIPs like our meaningless conversations.”

Taeyang immediately disagreed, responding, “What do you mean? It means a lot. It’s not meaningless.”

“Yeah, so please catch our behind-the-scenes,” Daesung added.

G-Dragon concluded his speech by reflecting on the connection between BIGBANG and VIPs, regardless of language.

“We don’t care because this is what it is, like happy, happy vibes, yeah. Our language is different. I know every language is different, but it doesn’t matter, you know. VIP and BIGBANG, we’re together. We don’t need to talk. We don’t need conversation that much because our music is sharing the feelings and every moment together. Very good, lah.”

‘Flower Road’ and ‘Still Life’ Bring an Emotional Ending

Following their final speeches, BIGBANG brought the second night to an emotional conclusion with “Flower Road” and “Still Life”.

For longtime VIPs, the two songs carried particular significance, reflecting the group’s history and the years shared between BIGBANG and its fans.

One of the evening’s most touching moments came during “Still Life”, when T.O.P’s recorded part remained in the performance.

Hearing his voice as the group approached its 20th anniversary added another emotional layer to the concert, serving as a reminder of the different chapters of BIGBANG’s history.

As the final moments approached, G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung stood together and gave the audience a deep bow, expressing their appreciation for the support they had received.

Across two nights, BIGBANG demonstrated that its appeal extends beyond the songs that made the group one of K-pop’s most influential acts.

The performances revisited nearly two decades of music, while the solo stages reflected each member’s individual artistic identity. Their spontaneous conversations, constant teasing and emotional speeches revealed a chemistry that remained central to the experience.

And after an evening filled with laughter, singalongs and reflections on the past, it was the sight of the three members bowing together, following the familiar voices and melodies of “Still Life”, that offered the most fitting conclusion.

For Singapore VIPs, it was a reminder that BIGBANG’s story continues to be written, both onstage and through the music they share.
