His second mini album, ‘Upside Down,’ released on August 25, has taken over the global charts, topping iTunes in 19 regions including Spain, Brazil, Thailand, Malaysia, South Africa, and Peru, and securing strong positions in China and Japan.
The excitement reached new heights during his countdown live, where Chanyeol reflected on how his City Scenery tour inspired the album. “The emotions I felt on stage guided me through this process,” he shared. “This album is the style of music I have wanted to try, and I felt EXO-Ls would truly connect with it.”
Choosing the title track, he admitted, was not easy. “Every track is special to me, but Upside Down just felt right. It is full of energy and perfect for this summer.”
Fans were treated to another special moment when Kai appeared during the live, presenting Chanyeol with a bouquet and a handwritten letter that moved both Chanyeol and viewers. “This album is so full of your color,” Kai wrote. “Knowing how much time and effort you put into it makes me even prouder. It feels like my own achievement. Once your promotions wrap up, let us come back together as EXO and make it even more spectacular.”
