SINGAPORE — Widely recognized as one of K-pop’s most dynamic performers, KAI (Kim Jongin) is not just a member of EXO — he’s an artist who moves with intent, emotion, and precision. Since debuting under SM Entertainment in 2012, KAI has built a reputation for his commanding stage presence, genre-blending solo releases, and high fashion influence. With a background in ballet and contemporary dance, every step he takes on stage tells a story.
After years of anticipation, KAI finally made his solo concert debut in Singapore with KAION, held on June 21 at The Star Theatre — and what a night it was.
“I hope that today becomes a great memory — not just for me, but for you too,” KAI said during his final ment. “To me, it’s going to be unforgettable.”
Presented by CK Star Entertainment, KAION marked KAI’s first-ever solo stage in Singapore, and from the moment he stepped out, he owned it.
Soundcheck: Warm Smiles, Kaya Toast, and KAI’s Signature Charm
The experience kicked off at 3:45PM with a special soundcheck session for VIPs and CAT winners. KAI greeted fans with his signature bright smile, dressed in a sporty ensemble. “I worked out before I came,” he said cheekily.
He performed ‘Reason,’ ‘Peaches,’ and ‘Rover’ during the soundcheck, and even shared his food adventure in Singapore: “Yesterday, during the fansign, I asked what I should try. You told me kaya toast — and I tried it. The one with butter inside!” He laughed and added, “How can you recommend me such evil, high-calorie food? It was so delicious.” When a fan shouted, “Sexy food!” he grinned and replied, “Yeah, sexy food.”
Before ending the soundcheck, he playfully reminded fans, “If you haven’t eaten, go grab something. And if you have… well, stop eating now,” he laughed. The energy was already sky-high, and the concert hadn’t even begun.
CHAPTER 1: A Stranger in the Mirror

The show officially opened with a cinematic VCR titled Chapter 1: A Stranger in the Mirror. KAI emerged in a fiery red outfit, launching into ‘Sinner,’ followed by ‘Mmmh’ and ‘Nothing On Me.’
He greeted fans and explained the meaning behind the concert title: “‘ION’ in Greek means eternity. ‘KAION’ is about how, when I’m on stage, KAI begins his eternity.”
CHAPTER 2: Reflections of Myself
After a brief change into a sharp green suit, KAI returned for an EXO medley segment that reminded fans of his roots — blending grace, power, and precision. With a background in ballet, his performance left the crowd in awe, each move a seamless blend of elegance and strength.
“I wanted to show the version of myself I’ve been searching for over the past 14 years,” he shared through a VCR message. “I’m glad you liked the new KAI.” He also asked fans to recommend more “hidden gem” eats in Singapore — and surprised many by using the local phrase itself.
CHAPTER 3: When All Selves Become One

A dramatic VCR transported fans to a surreal world where KAI confronted and became one with his inner selves. Emerging in his final outfit — an all-black ensemble complete with jacket, cap, and no shirt underneath, the crowd erupted. This moment, paired with jaw-dropping performances of ‘Confession’ and ‘Domino,’ was nothing short of legendary.
“Which outfit did you like best?” he asked, hinting at his fashion-forward mindset. He also revealed plans to head to the US and attend Milan Fashion Week for PRADA’s S26 Menswear Collection.
CHAPTER 4: Welcome to the New Me

As fans thought the night was winding down, KAI gave them one more surprise: a fan dance session and an encore with two special tracks — ‘Blue’ and ‘Honest.’ The final VCR, Welcome to the New Me, tied the night together with a message of evolution and authenticity.
“I’m really happy today,” he said during his closing ment. “This moment with Singapore fans — I won’t be able to forget it. Please don’t forget it either. Promise me, okay?”
Before exiting the stage, he took a commemorative photo with the audience and made one final promise: “I’ll come back again — and next time, with the rest of the EXO members.”
Final Thoughts

KAI’s KAION concert was more than just a performance — it was an immersive journey through his artistry and identity. From the intricate stage storytelling to the fan interactions and jaw-dropping dance breaks, the entire show was a 10/10.
If you haven’t seen KAI live yet, make it a priority. One night with him on stage, and you’ll understand why the name KAION truly means eternity.
